Job Summary/Basic Functions

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Capital Outlay Project Manager! This position provides project management for assigned projects including both capital and non-capital projects including planning, design, and construction phases.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of general architecture/engineering disciplines
  • Considerable knowledge of construction administration
  • Considerable knowledge of state, federal codes laws and regulations applicable to the construction of public buildings
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills
  • Proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects of varied size and complexity
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations and organizations

 

Required Experience:

  • Considerable practical experience and knowledge of facility design and construction management
  • A valid driver’s license

 

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience and familiarity with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Construction and Professional Services Manual
  • Experience and familiarity with the Virginia Uniform State Building Code
  • Experience and familiarity with the erosion and sediment control and stormwater regulations
  • Experience and familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Experience and familiarity with Primavera or similar scheduling software
