Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our team a the Gari Melchers Home & Studio Grounds & Maintenance Assistant. The Grounds Assistant helps maintain the museum grounds and gardens, and assists with routine equipment and building repairs and upkeep.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • Ability to operate power and hand landscape maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions, and build understanding of procedures for working at an historic site.

 

Required Experience:

  • Experience using power and hand landscape maintenance equipment and tools.

 

Required Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Additional Considerations:

KSAs

  • Ability to work independently as needed.
  • Ability to maintain equipment and tools, and knowledge of lawn maintenance practices.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to work consecutive days.
