Do you enjoy people and love sharing a good story? Gari Melchers Home & Studio is hiring docents to join our education team.  Weekend positions available. Pay is $14.34/hour.

General Description:  Provide a welcoming, hospitable environment and rewarding learning experience to museum visitors through guided tours. Docent responsibilities include giving interactive and engaging tours of the historic house museum and the studio galleries, and assisting with special events and programs. Weekend shifts available.

Qualifications: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Computer and email proficiency required. Ability to relate to and communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Additional Considerations: Enjoy meeting and interacting with other people. Personable, outgoing, and reliable with an interest in history and art. Previous work as a docent, guide, or teacher is a plus

Required Education: High School education or GED

Required Experience: Public speaking
