Title: Health and Well-being Student Intern (HWSI)

Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Health and Well-being Student Intern (HWSI) will research, develop, and deliver, using social media and other tools, information and messaging to UMW’s students concerning their health and well-being, with an emphasis on disease prevention, risk reduction, and self-care, and on increasing awareness of on-campus resources that are available to students.
Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications
The HWSI should have the following characteristics (or demonstrate the willingness and ability to develop them):
• An interest in health and well-being (preference given to Biology, Psychology, or Communications majors)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong writing and speaking ability
• Creativity
• A working familiarity with popular social media platforms
• The ability to work independently
• Strong compassionate communication skills
• Comfort speaking with individuals and small groups about health and well-being issues
• Willingness to learn and to accept feedback and supervision
