Job Summary/Basic Functions
To support the Director of Internal Audit (DIA) with managing, planning and performing comprehensive audits of financial and information technology operations. This position will report directly to the DIA and contribute to daily IA operations and delivery of all IA activities, including annual risk assessment and audit planning, advisory engagements, and successful completion of the annual IA plan.
This position will also support the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT Department by serving as the liaison to the vendors hosting UMW’s systems.

Required Experience:
• Experience in auditing, accounting, project management, and/or administration.
• Experience with or knowledge of public higher education operations, university systems, and compliance/regulatory requirements.
Additional Considerations:
Preferred:
• Knowledge of relevant auditing and risk management standards and principles, such as the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously; and maintain productivity and quality under pressure.
• Skilled in active listening, empathy, and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated self-motivation and inquisitiveness, including taking initiative, seeking clarity through questions, and remaining committed to personal and professional growth.
• Quick to learn and apply new IT systems and tools to enhance workflow efficiency
• Demonstrated reliability and accountability in completing tasks and working autonomously with minimal supervision.
