Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington, an NCAA Division III institution located in historic and vibrant Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking an Assistant Coach. Graduate tuition remission may be possible after one year of employment. Coaching duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the head coach with practice and game preparation and coaching, recruiting, academics, fundraising, and the off-season program.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • A proven record in following directives and being responsible for tasks which have been assigned.
  • Ability to adhere to all policies, rules and regulations of the university, the Coast to Coast Conference and the NCAA.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively - orally, by phone, in person, and in writing.
  • Ability to represent the department and University in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Must be willing to travel and be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required.

 

Required Experience:

  • Experience as a lacrosse student assistant coach or former lacrosse student-athlete.

 

Additional Considerations:

KSAs

  • Experience coaching at the collegiate level.
  • Experience playing lacrosse at the collegiate level.
  • Experience recruiting.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

  • First Aid/CPR/AED
