UMW seeks a Payroll Manager to independently plan and direct all University payroll functions, including interpreting laws and regulations, making policy decisions, evaluating efficiency and productivity, and maintaining a high level of service in the payroll department. The position is responsible for managing a complex payroll operation that includes multiple funding sources, multiple pay frequencies, garnishments, taxes, numerous tax-deferred options, deductions, and direct deposit. The position is responsible for processing withholding and benefit reconciliations and related remittances accurately and timely. The Payroll Manager ensures compliance with state and federal laws and University policies and must ensure efficient operations of the payroll team to meet numerous inflexible deadlines.
