The University of Mary Washington invites applications for a Scene Shop Supervisor to provide production support in the scene shop in the Department of Theatre and Dance. The successful candidate will be proficient in reading working drawings, determining costs, coordinating construction and installation of scenery, procuring supplies, maintaining equipment and systems, and supervising the safe and effective operation of the scene shop and ancillary spaces that support the theatre production program. The position supports the lighting department in the hang, circuiting, and focus of lighting equipment. The successful candidate will be skilled in carpentry, construction techniques, rigging, the use and maintenance of power tools and equipment, current safety practices, supervising students with a range of experience and comfort levels with production techniques and equipment, and communication. Occasional evening and weekend work is required. BA in Theatre or related field preferred or professional experience commensurate with the expectations of the position.
