Job Summary/Basic Functions
The University of Mary Washington Department of Computer Science invites applications for a Lecturer of Computer Science, a renewable-term position, set to commence on August 15, 2025. Our close-knit team of ten faculty specializes in working with eager undergraduate students in small classes and in one-on-one mentoring settings. The candidate must possess a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Additional required qualifications are commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level and the ability to teach a variety of computer science topics. Highly-qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate dedication to effective teaching and high-impact learning, effective oral and written communication skills, knowledge of Open Source software development, experience with relevant industry certifications, and interest in supporting course offerings in the Cybersecurity major. The normal teaching load is three sections per semester in small classes.
Required Experience:
Highly-qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate dedication to effective teaching and high-impact learning, effective oral and written communication skills, knowledge of Open Source software development, and experience with relevant industry certifications. Additional required qualifications are commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level and the ability to teach a variety of computer science topics.
