Title: Student Loan Coordinator

Job Summary/Basic Functions
Responsible for the management, processing & awarding of the Federal Direct Loan Program and all Alternative loan programs.
Serve as the point of contact for lenders and servicers to assist with skip tracing reports and contacting students in a delinquency of default status. Handle the caseload of all students (A-Z) who borrow educational loans at UMW.
Responsible for Pell and Teach Grant programs. Working with students on the TEACH Grant process.
Reconciliation and resolution of all rejects with COD for Federal Direct Loans & Grant programs.
Serve as the liaison with outside collection agencies and loan servicing for the Perkins Loan Program (ECSI)
Assist with daily telephone and email customer service relating to loans.
Participate in customer service training as well as other job related training. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
Experience in financial aid or multiple years in a college/university.
Additional Considerations:
Skilled working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Strong commitment to excellence through demonstrated accuracy, knowledge and skill. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using Ellucian Banner Financial Aid module. Experience with ELM or other Private loan processing system. Two or more years of experience working in a postsecondary environment preferably in financial aid.
NASFAA certification in various financial aid modules
