Job Summary/Basic Functions

Accurately and efficiently purchase and receive inventory supplies and equipment, which may include hazardous material. Unload trucks using, forklifts, pallet trucks and hand trucks. Verifies quantity received against purchase orders. Places supplies and equipment in assigned locations after receipt. Performs inventory control functions, quality control on inventory and has the lead role in vendor relations with the Storeroom. Prepares supplies and equipment for shipment. Delivers supplies and equipment to various locations on campus as needed. Picks up surplus property and delivers to the Central Storeroom. Performs the receiving function using automated purchasing program. Issues supplies using automated inventory program. Maintains maintenance, safety and performance of warehouse and its personnel and adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.

Required Experience:

* Warehouse/storeroom experience.

Additional Considerations:

Knowledge of Virginia State Purchasing guidelines and procedures.

High School and/or equivalent training and experience.

Virginia Contracting Associate Certification (VCA)

Knowledge of the Banner 9 accounting system

Industrial truck operating license
