Call Me MISTER prepares individuals from a broader range of communities and educational backgrounds for impactful careers as elementary, middle, or high school teachers (and counselors), providing resources and support that move them toward successfully securing positions in schools where they will positively impact the lives of students. This grant-funded position will work collaboratively with multiple departments at the institution including, but not limited to, Admissions, Financial Aid, and the COE to coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing success of MiSTERS from entry to degree completion. The position will work in alignment with the STARS director to grow the program by engaging in outreach with PreK-12 and community service organizations to promote pipelines into postsecondary studies and licensure pathways for teaching. Additionally, the program coordinator will assist STARS and COE with the development and implementation of extracurricular activities during Misters undergraduate studies to ensure success.
*The individual hired to be the assistant director will have an option to serve as an onsite, live-in coordinator of the Call Me Mister in-residence, living learning community (LLC).
